Giving

We believe that giving to support the work of the church, to relieve the needs of the poor, and to spread the gospel through all nations, is the particular responsibility of the church members who have committed themselves to this church. If you are not a member but feel the Lord is directing you to give then please use the donate button below.

God’s purpose in all that he does is to glorify himself, that is to put his glory on display for all peoples on earth to see. He does this through creation, redemption, his word, and supremely through the person of his own Son, The Lord Jesus Christ.

The right response of humanity is to glorify God, through delighting in him, and obeying him.

Giving is one of the ways we glorify God.

Honour the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce. (Proverbs 3v9, ESV)

Giving is a means by which we declare that all we have comes from God. Everything we own is given to us on trust. We are never owners, only stewards of the God’s possessions.

But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you. (1 Chronicles 29:14, ESV)

Giving is a means by which we show our trust in God. As we give the first portion of our income, so we are declaring our confidence in God to continue to provide for us.

Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. (Malachi 3:10, ESV)

Our giving doesn’t end with our physical resources, but we also serve with our time, talents and the gifts God has given each of us to build the body of Christ.

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves                a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7, ESV)
