Hebrews 6:11-18 The Certainty behind our Hope (7th June 2026)
How can we be certain that God's saving purposes will never fail? In Hebrews 6, the writer points us back to God's promise to Abraham—a promise that reaches far beyond one man and one nation. God pledged to gather a people for Himself from every tribe, language, and nation, and He confirmed that promise with an oath. This promise finds its fulfilment in Jesus Christ, the promised offspring of Abraham. Through faith in Him, both Jew and Gentile become heirs of God's covenant blessings and are brought into the rest He has prepared for His people. Because God's promise and God's oath cannot fail, our hope rests not in our strength or faithfulness, but in His unchanging character. Join us as we explore the certainty of God's saving purposes and discover why Christians can press on with confidence, perseverance, and hope. Hebrews 6:1-20 Pursuing assurance of salvation (31st May 2026)
Scripture teaches that those whom God foreknew, predestined, called and justified will be glorified (Romans 8:29-30). It is a truth called the perseverance of the saints, and brings great assurance of salvation. However, it is not a reason to coast as Christians. Knowing this should motivate us to press on to know Christ in a deeper way, to live more obediently to him and to have greater assurance of our salvation That is what this morning's teaching from Hebrews 6:9-12 will show us All music videos are streamed under our Streaming Plus Licence 1306812

Consider Jesus: Hebrews 5:11-6:12 Heed the warning (24th May 2026)
Every day we are faced with warnings, from the "use by" dates on food, to potential side effects of medication, advisories on MOT tests, and many more. We heed those warnings for the sake of our health and safety. In his word God also gives warnings. He gives us warnings for the sake of our eternal life. This morning we are confronted with such a warning. It is a warning that serves to keep us moving forward in our faith so that we will have assurance of salvation. Consider Jesus: Hebrews 5:11-6:2 Grow up! (17th May 2026)
This week, we return to the series in Hebrews entitled Consider Jesus. Over the next three weeks we will be looking at the section on apostasy (Chapter 5:11-6:12), and considering the following questions, amongst others. What is apostasy? How does a person fall into it and how can we avoid it? How can we have assurance of salvation? We begin by seeing the need to grow up spiritually. This week's message is drawn from Hebrews 5:7 - 6:3 and has the title Grow up! We are not to be standing still in our faith, but pressing on to spiritual maturity. That will mean feasting on Christ as he is revealed in his word. All music videos are streamed under our Streaming Plus Licence 1306812

1 John 1:5-2:6 Walking in the light (10th May 2026)
This week, Elder Clive Baines continues in 1 John. We are challenged to live a different kind of life compared to the world. John directs our attention : to the perfection of God in that He is light: we need to see this more because it ultimately leads to that to which we are to aspire to God's nature that will move us to long to walk in His perfect light, even as it exposes the bad news of who we really are and our true nature. to the good news, even though we are sinners to the core without excuse and with no place for denial. Walking in the light does not mean we are sinless, but John points us to the power of confession. Finally, John points us to the faithfulness of God through His Son, with the promises that shine light into our darkness, exposing its deeds and bringing healing in confession so that we can continue our walk blameless. 1 John 1:1-10 The Joy of Knowing Jesus (3rd May 2026)
This week, Elder Clive Baines brings us a message drawn from 1 John Ch 1:1-10, entitled The joy of knowing Jesus. John proclaims that the disciples have seen Jesus. They have touched and heard Him. They have walked and talked with Him, sat down with Him and prayed with Him and they have eaten with Him. He is Jesus Christ, the Word of Life How does this amazing experience that John proclaims help us today in our walk with Jesus? It gives us the confidence that our faith is built on a real foundation and stands for ever. We will see the joy of our relationship with Jesus. John’s testimony is that when we have fellowship together in the word, we have fellowship with Jesus just as John did. There is coming a day when we too will see, touch and hear our Saviour. 2 Corinthians 3:1-3; 3:12 - 4: 6 The reality of God and the power of His Word (26th April 2026)
God’s will for our lives is our sanctification (1 Thessalonians 4:3). What is sanctification, and how does sanctification happen? This week we will discover that sanctification is a process by which we are being transformed into the image of Christ as we behold his glory in the gospel. In this process the work of the Holy Spirit is essential, as is prayerfully mediating on the word of God. All music videos are streamed under our Streaming Plus Licence 1306812

2 Corinthians 4: 1-6 The glory of God and mission(19th April 2026)
Christian mission is primarily proclaiming the word of God. It is primarily declaring that Jesus is Lord. But why? Why do we make it our mission to speak the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ? Why do we make it our mission to ensure that the Bible is translated into languages that people understand? Why do we ensure that social action is accompanied by gospel proclamation? That’s what we shall answer this morning as we discover the reality of God and the power of his word. All music videos are streamed under our Streaming Plus Licence 1306812

Romans 8:9-11 The surpassing work of the Spirit (Easter Sunday 5th April 2026)
The resurrection of Jesus three days after his death was witnessed by the apostles and over 500 people, many of whom gave their lives declaring this truth. It is a truth that has sustained believers in some of the most intense times of suffering. It is a truth that has given hope to dying saints, and those who grieve their loss. Hebrews 4:14 - 5:10 Appointed by God, qualified by suffering (29th March 2026)
Salvation is more than forgiveness of sin. It is a call to a life of complete submission to God, even when submission is hard and even when we have to say, “Not my will but yours be done.” Hebrews 4v16 shows us that God offers grace to help in our time of need, which includes the grace we need to submit to him. This week we continue to see how Jesus is not only an example of submission to the will of God the Father, but, as our great high priest, is also the one who opens up the way to the experience God’s grace to submit. Hebrews 4:14 - 5:10 Grace to help in time of need (22nd March 2026)
The repeated command in Hebrews is to “hold fast our confession.” It is a call to remain faithful to Jesus. We confess him as apostle and high priest, and we are to live our lives in the light of that confession. The challenge is that we have enemies who threaten our faith through lies and hostility. However, God has given us means of grace to sustain us: the Christian community, his word, and prayer. This morning we will see how we have access to this grace through Jesus our great high priest, what this grace is, and how he helps us stand firm. Romans 12:1-21 God's View Point (15th March 2026)
Seeing God’s perspective and climbing the heights of His view point can be a great challenge especially when our perspectives are out of sync with His. We see the height of His perfection and then see such a challenge as we bow before our King longing to be more like him. He is our example and our view point to see as God sees. We need to trust and obey even when it all does not make sense, because there is a bigger picture in view. We need to meet Christ at His vantage point to enable us to see more clearly the desires of His heart for us. All music videos are streamed under our Streaming Plus Licence 1306812

How can we be sure this message applies to us? What would it look like to apply these words to our lives? What does God promise to help us not fear or be discouraged? As we begin Advent, we do so by reminding ourselves that Jesus coming into the world has brought hope to all people. Hope is essential if we are going to have joy. Proverbs 16:1-3 The God who reigns (14th September 2025)
Who do you believe is ultimately in control of your life, and the lives of those you love? Who do you believe has ultimate authority over all the plans and schemes of world leaders? As Christians we are quick to answer, “God is in control.” Obviously that’s right, but so often we fail to live with this awareness that God is ultimately in control. As a result we become anxious when everything feels out of control, or bitter when our plans don’t work out. Walking in Wisdom part 3 Proverbs 3:1-12 The Straight Path of Wisdom (17th August 2025)
To make progress on a walk all you have to do is take one step at a time. If we keep taking a step, then we will get somewhere. That is a good metaphor for life. Every decision we make is like a step along the path of life. Every step, every choice, is taking us on a path that is making us either more like Jesus, or less like him. That is why we need God’s wisdom. This sermon from Proverbs 3 will show us the wise steps we need to take if we are going to experience God leading us on a straight path to Christlikeness. Life is complicated. We have many choices to make that, though important, God hasn’t given us answers for in his word. There are no shortage of voices speaking directions to us, but very often those voices fail to acknowledge God. The priestly line of men serving in Tabernacle and temple duties was a shadow, or a sign post, of what was to come We live in the joy of the fulfilment of the old priestly way in Jesus - The Perfect Way What we see in this chapter is so uplifting to our souls: We have a relationship with our Heavenly Father He has chosen to be merciful and remember our sins no more He proclaims I will be their God and they shall be my people We are not alone in a fallen world with a fallen nature. Our battle with the old nature, in constant conflict with our new nature, is eased by our Father's promises. His word upon our hearts confirms that our heavenly home is where Jesus serves us in His perfect sanctuary. All music videos are streamed under our Streaming Plus Licence 1306812

This week we will look at the very first church plant as our guide. As we engage with this description of the early church we will see revealed to us what the church really is!
